Inspired by: Cherry Smoke by Tom Ford (dark cherry, incense, resinous wood)
This is dark cherry done properly — not syrupy, not playful.
It’s dense, slightly medicinal, smoky, and resin-heavy.
Opening hits with black cherry + saffron — thick, almost liqueur-like cherry with that slightly leathery spice edge from saffron. It’s not bright cherry — it’s deep red, almost black.
Mid is where it separates from cheap clones:
frankincense + osmanthus + amyris gives it that smoky, slightly floral, slightly apricot-leather texture. Osmanthus adds that subtle leathery fruit nuance that makes it feel expensive instead of linear.
Drydown is the whole point:
balsamic resins, guaiac wood, styrax, cypriol (nagarmotha) — this is where the smoke, tar, and wood come in. Slightly burnt, slightly oily, almost like smoldering cherry wood with resin dripping into it.
This is not a crowd pleaser — but it’s not trying to be.
It’s controlled chaos, and when it works, it really works.

Dark cherry → resinous incense → smoky, woody, slightly tar-like drydown
